Sulochana Chavan, a seasoned playback vocalist, and Lavanisamradhni passed away today, December 10, in Mumbai as a result of bad health. She was 92 years old. She passed away at her home this morning at about noon. Her younger son, daughter-in-law, eldest son's wife, and grandkids survive her.
Fans and followers of Sulochana Chavan have been grieved by the news of her passing. She had a significant impact on the arts and culture. She received the civilian Padma Shri award. She contributed her voice to numerous well-known songs, including "Kas Kay Patil Bar Hai Ka?" "Padala Piklay Amba," "Mala Kaitya Punni Maina," and "Tesh Usa Hala Kolha."
In addition, she received various honours and medals. It included the Ganga-Jamuna Award and two Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Maharashtra government. She also received the year's Ram Kadam Award from the Pune Municipal Corporation in 2009, and the year's Lata Mangeshkar Award from the Maharashtra government in 2011.
Sulochana was born in 1933. She began her profession at the young age of just 11. The seasoned vocalist experimented with acting in addition to Gujarati theatre and regional dramas. Her appearances can actually be seen in a few Tamil and Punjabi movies.
