Son of J.R.R Tolkien, Christopher Tolkien passes away at 95 in France.

A major contributor in the long line of high fantasy books by Tolkien, Christopher Tolkien has died early Thursday morning. Christopher Tolkien is the son of J.R.R Tolkien who wrote books like "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit." The immense popularity of both books even after decades since its first publication reveal its influence.

Christopher Tolkien himself is well known as the Executive publisher for all works by Tolkien that came out post-1973. Christopher helped publish "The Silmarillion" which traces the history of Middle Earth and explains the myth and lore of Tolkien's fantastical world. He also helped publish the 12 volumes of the collection “History of Middle-earth” published between 1983 and 1996.

Christopher is also the mind behind the maps of Middle Earth that preface most books by his father now. He was also known for his critical approach to most adaptations of his father's works. In the recent past Christopher stood against the film, Tolkien that came out in 2019 and told the story of Tolkien's early childhood and young adulthood.

While there isn't much disclosed about where Christopher Tolkien's burial takes place, it will most certainly be somewhere in France as he is a naturalized French man.
