A couple of weeks ago Sonakshi Sinha appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati. The actress was unable to answer a question about Ramayana and quickly received a lot of trolling on the internet. Actor Mukesh Khanna also slammed the actress in a subtle but clear way. Khanna said that the new generation has no respect for Indian traditions and mythology.
Now in a recent online conversation with the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Sonakshi said that it was only a small honest mistake. She added saying, 'I participated with a contestant named Ruma Devi. A question was asked to us on Sanjeevani Booti, and for a moment, both Ruma and I went blank. Honestly, it was a bit embarrassing, since we have grown up reading and watching Ramayana. But it was really long ago, and we all tend to have moments when we go blank. Since then, it has been five to six months, and it's disheartening that people still troll me over one honest mistake'.
Previously Sonakshi's father and actor Shatrughan Sinha also defended her daughter against internet trolls. Speaking directly about Mukesh Khanna's comments he asked, 'Who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?'
Sinha also said, 'I believe someone has a problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with Ramayan?'
Mukesh Khanna previously apologized saying he did not mean to directly attack Sonakshi Sinha. He said that he did not mean any offense but is sorry if Shatrughan Sinha felt bad.
