Director Srikar Gade made his debut in Tollywood with his film SR Kalyana Mandapam. The film features Kiran Abbavaram and Priyanka Jawalkar in lead roles. SR Kalyana Mandapam was released in theatres on August 6 and has been receiving mixed responses from critics and audiences alike. However, within a few hours of the film's release, SR Kalyana Mandapam has been subjected to piracy. Kiran Abbavaram took to Instagram to share a video thanking everyone for their comments and supporting his journey. He also requested fans not to support piracy by watching the film on their mobile phones and laptops.
In his video, he said, "We’re very happy to see houseful boards at theatres showcasing our film. We were initially confused if we should release the film during the pandemic but it has once again been proved that the audience will encourage good content. I’ve received good feedback, we’re all happy. I’ve been told that the film has been pirated. I request everyone to understand the struggle that went into making this film. We have given our blood, sweat, and tears to it. We request you to not give in to piracy and watch it at the theatre. Let us all support cinema during these tough times.”
