Director Sreekanth Addala is popular for making family entertainers like Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Mukunda and Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Thus, when it got announced that he will be helming the Telugu remake of Tamil action-drama Asuran, people had several doubts about his capabilities. However, Addala seems to have proven his skills in directing the film Narappa. Apparently, the producers are happy with the way he handled the action sequences of the movie.
Narappa features Venkatesh as the lead hero. Priyamani is playing the female lead in it. C/o Kancherapalem fame Karthik Rathnam. The makers have shot a 40-days continuous schedule in Anantapur district before the lockdown. Currently, the shooting works are on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, the team is editing the completed portions of the film. We hear that the makers are highly elated with the output brought by Addala. They are hoping that Addala will tarnish the image of the class-director with this movie.
The shooting of Narappa resumes once the situation gets back to a normal state. Narappa's story is set in the 1960s and revolves around caste-based riots between two families. Venkatesh plays the role of a middle-aged father in the movie. It is being produced jointly by Suresh Babu and Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banners Suresh Productions and V Creations. Mani Sharma is composing the music of it. Narappa may hit the screens in 2021.
