When SS Rajamouli met director Steven Spielberg at a reception in the United States, he had a fanboy moment. Rajamouli expressed his respect for the famed American filmmaker. Spielberg has created films such as Jaws, Lincoln, and, most recently, The Fabelmans. MM Keeravani also shared images from their meeting. He shared Steven's reaction to their Golden Globe-winning song Naatu Naatu from RRR. The period drama has been re-released in US theatres. And the director and actors are promoting it ahead of the Oscars in 2023.
SS Rajamouli and Steven Spielberg had a star-studded encounter when they met at a Universal Pictures party. Rajamouli is seen holding his face and seeming astonished as he stands in front of Steven in a snapshot he uploaded on Twitter. Music composer MM Keeravani can also be seen alongside him. All three of them can be seen posing for the camera in the second shot he tweeted. "I just met GOD!!!" Rajamouli commented beside the photographs.
MM Keeravani was also overjoyed to see the Academy Award-winning filmmaker. He stated that Steven even complimented their RRR song Naatu Naatu. “And I couldn’t believe it when he said he liked Naatu Naatu,” he wrote in the description. Keeravani also tweeted that he told Steven Spielberg which of his movie is his favorite. “Had the privilege of meeting the God of movies and say in his ears that I love his movies including DUEL like anything.”
At the recently completed 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, SS Rajamouli's RRR won Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. MM Keeravani's composition Naatu Naatu stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan. Steven Spielberg was named Best Director, while his film The Fabelmans was named Best Motion Picture (Drama).
