Alluri Seetharama Raju is the 100th film of Krishna. It got directed by V. Rama Chandra Rao. It had hit the screens on May 1, 1974. The film is a biographical drama based on the life of freedom fighter and Manyam leader Alluri Seetha Rama Raju. Until then, only a set of Telugu people know the story of this unsung hero. But after this film, everyone across the country came to know about the heroics of Alluri. Apparently, NTR wanted to do a film on this freedom fighter. But, eventually, Krishna has decided to take up the project. He did complete justice to the role as well. Now, if anyone mentions the name of Alluri, we get an image of Krishna in our minds. Such is the impact created by the actor.
 
This film featured Vijaya Nirmala as the female lead. Jaggaiah, Chandramohan, Kanta Rao and Raja Babu played the other pivotal roles in the film. The soundtrack of the film, composed by P. Adhinarayana Rao, was a huge hit as well. Songs like Telugu Veera Levara and Vastadu Naa Raju became classics over time. Alluri Seetharama Raju was an industry hit in those times as it collected a share of Rs. 2 crores at the box office.
