There seems to be no end to the Coronavirus pandemic in the near future. Olivia Nikkanen the star of Supergirl is now in the latest lineup of stars who have contracted the novel COVID-19 virus. The actress joined in an Instagram live stream with co-star Kathryn Newton to share her experience of contracting the disease. "I’m feeling better now. I still have some chest tightness. ... This is a scary thing. It's all-consuming," she said, adding, "I’m glad that I’m okay and that my mom is okay."
Previously Nikkanen shared early symptoms of the virus when she first came down with body pain and fever. On March 13, Nikkanen said she had a temperature of 99.5 with slight chills. Just a day later the actress reported having terrible body aches and chills and major fatigue with a body temperature of 102.4.
She was diagnosed with Coronavirus on March 16. Before the diagnosis, the actress lost her sense of smell and taste with a bad case of sore throat. Nikkanen also said that she took Tylenol for her fever and plenty of rest until the symptoms reduced.
She further said, "I feel extremely lucky to be able to stay home and fully recover, it is a privilege, though it should be a right. If you are also in that position, please think about the people who are not able to take time off work," she wrote. "We are living in an unprecedented time that will no doubt change history forever and no person should be left behind. If I can flatten the curve and protect those at risk, I will do so gladly."
