Superstar Krishna's production house Padmalaya Studios turns 50; Mahesh remembers its legacy

One of the oldest and most celebrated production houses in the Indian film industry is Padmalaya Studios. Owned by Superstar Krishna, the film has produced many successful films in many languages. The production house is celebrating the 50th anniversary today. On this occasion, Mahesh Babu shared a tweet about this glorious journey.
 
Just about a while ago, Mahesh Babu tweeted, "It all began today 50 years ago for #PadmalayaStudios!! A glorious journey. Respect and congratulations to its founding members and the entire team who have created some iconic entertaining films under this banner for our Telugu film audience. Happy 50th."
 
Padmalaya Studios was set up in 1971. Krishna bankrolled the films along with Adiseshagiri Rao and Hanumantha Rao. The first film that got produced under the banner was Agni Pariksha. Later, Krishna bankrolled Mosagallaku Mosagadu. This was the first western movie in Telugu. Directed by KSR Das, it was a big hit at the box office. Later, many hit films got produced under a banner like Kurukshetram and Eenadu. Simhasanam, Mugguru Kodukulu, and Rajakeeya Chadarangam also got produced under this banner. Simhasanam was the first 70mm film in Telugu.
 
In Hindi, Krishna bankrolled hit movies like Takkar, Himmatwala, Mawaali, and Justice Chowdary. Qaidi, Hoshiyar, Paatal Bhairavi, Singhaasan, and Sooryavansham also got bankrolled under this banner. Krishna bankrolled a handful of films in Tamil and Kannada as well. Currently, Krishna's daughter Manjula is running a production house named Indira Productions. Meanwhile, Mahesh also runs a production house called GMB Entertainments. Even the fans are celebrating the occasion by sharing the achievements of the studio on social media. Some of them are also recollecting the memories of it.
