Suriya gets a big shock; After Tamilnadu Theatres Association, Kerala Theatres Association issues warning of non-cooperation

Suriya is one of the popular actors in the South film industry. During the lockdown, all his films related activities came to a stop. Suriya paused the shoot and also put the movies on hold that he is producing. One of the movies that he produced recently is Ponmagal Vandal. Jyothika played the lead role in the film, as an advocate. The film is ready for a release but got postponed because of the lockdown period. Suriya decided to release the movie directly on an OTT platform but unfortunately, things did not work that way. The theatres association issued a warning to Suriya saying that he cannot do that.

Amazon Prime Video offered a great deal to Suriya for the release of the movie on their platform. In order to avoid unnecessary financial troubles, Suriya decided to take up the deal. Soon after the news broke out, the theatres association issued a warning to Suriya that they will boycott the release of all upcoming films starring Suriya. This came as a big shock to Suriya and then he decided to put the release on hold now. The movie was supposed to release on 1st May but it did not happen.

Now, along with the Tamilnadu theatres association, Kerala theatres association issued a statement saying that they won't release his movies in the future. With these developments, Suriya is in talks with his close associates to take a decision over the release of Ponmagal Vandal.
