After being in the making for almost a year, his film NGK with director Selvaraghavan has been wrapped up finally. As a parting gift, Suriya is gifted one sovereign gold coin to the technical team of NGK. It is said that around 120 people received this gift.
It has become a regular gesture for actors to present gold coins to the film team to appreciate their work. In 2017, Thalapathy Vijay presented gold coins to the members who worked on Mersal, which was directed by Atlee.
NGK is touted to be a political thriller and it is expected to hit the theatres sometime in mid-2019. In the film, Suriya plays the role of Nandha Gopalan Kumaran, who is fondly called as NGK and that explains the titled.
NGK was announced towards the end of 2017 and it took the makers over a year to complete the film. Meanwhile, Suriya worked on KV Anand’s Kaappaan in which he plays a security guard to a minister.
