We had already reported that Suriya's production house 2D Entertainment inked a four-film deal with Amazon Prime Video. The first film of the fort was Raame Aandalum Raame Aandalum had its premiere on September 24 and received a lukewarm response from critics and audiences alike. Now, Suriya and his production house are gearing up for the release of the second film, Udanpirappe. Directed by Era Saravanan, Udanpirappe features Jyotika and Sasikumar in lead roles. Udanpirappe has skipped theatrical release and will stream on October 14, on the occasion of Dussehra. Meanwhile, Suriya's fans received happy news from the makers of his upcoming film, Jai Bhim.
On October 1, Amazon Prime Video took to social media to announce that Jai Bhim will release on November 2 ahead of Diwali. Diwali falls on November 4 which is when Rajinikanth's Annaatthe will release in theatres. The poster features Suriya as a lawyer. The film is based on a real-life lawyer named Chandru and his legal battle, which happened in 1993. The film follows the lives of Senggeni and Rajakannu. While Rajakkannu gets arrested, his records o missing. Chandrutakes up the case as a lawyer to uncover the truth and bring justice to Senggeni. DIrected by TJ Gnanavel, Jai Bhim stars Prakash Raj, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan and Lijomose Jose.
