Suriya’s market in limbo after NGK failure
Actor Suriya was last seen in NGK, which was produced by his close family member who owns the Dream Warrior Pictures. NGK, directed by Selvaraghavan received mixed reviews from the audience.
Even though the film took a good opening in Tamil Nadu, the producers and distributors are facing huge losses. Since it’s a family production, Suriya signed the film on a share basis without getting any remuneration.
Since there is no profit, he seems to have lost a lot. The Telugu distributor Radhamohan secures the film for Rs 9 crore and he could recover only Rs 4.5 crore, which means he’s facing a 50% loss.
NGK has collected Rs 26 crore in all languages. This is such a small number for a star like Suriya whose remuneration is itself Rs 25 crore. Suriya will not be able to quote the same salary as his market is completely down.
