Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a recent Malayalam movie that became a big hit at the box-office. Ayyappanum Koshiyum has several striking elements that worked well at the box-office. No one expected that the film would become such a big hit but surprisingly, it impressed audiences, and created a storm in the Malayalam film industry. The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles. While Prithviraj essayed the role of Koshi Kurien, Biju played the role of Ayyappa, a police sub-inspector. The film revolves around the ego clashes between the two of them. Now, there is a huge demand for the remake rights of the film. The remake rights for the Telugu version are with Suryadevara Naga Vamshi, who recently scored hits with Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and Bheeshma.
Suryadevara Naga Vamshi heads Sitara Entertainments, the sister production of Haarika & Hassinee Creations. The producer reportedly liked the film and felt that there was potential for a remake in the Telugu language.
Directed by Sachy, the film marks his third-time collaboration with Prithviraj Sukumaran. Earlier, they had worked on the films Anarkali and Driving License together.
The remake rights for Tamil verion were also bought up for a huge price. Kathiresan, who made Aadukalam and Jigarthanda, took the Tamil remake rights. Prithviraj Sukumaran continued his success with 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum', which released after 'Driving License'. The Malayalam version is currently available on Amazon Prime Video.
