In the age of nepotism, it is very rare to see a new face in Bollywood these days. However many actors and actresses have broken these shackles away and made a name for themselves. Model turned actor Sushmita Sen is definitely one of them. In the latest video, Sen reveals the story of her time as the winner of Miss India. She said that her winning gown was sown by a local tailor in Sarojini Nagar as her family did not have money for a designer gown.
Sen revealed, "My mother said, 'So what? They are not going to look at your clothes, they are going to look at you.' So we bought a piece of fabric from the Sarojini Nagar market. Downstairs, in the garage, there was a local tailor who made petticoats. We gave him the material and said, 'This will come on TV, make a good dress.' He made my winning gown out of that fabric and my mother made a rose out of the remaining fabric. We bought brand new black socks, cut it, put elastic in it and then I wore them as gloves)," added the actress.
"The day I won Miss India wearing that gown was a very big day for me. You don't need money to get what you want, your intention should be right," she added.
The actress has proven that one doesn't need money or anything to find success in life. Her story of a modest family background has inspired many of her fans and will continue to do so in the coming years.
