Taapsee Pannu has now become the go-to girl for the content-oriented films in Hindi Cinema. Her films like Pink, Mulk, and Badla gave a separate fan base to Taapsee and she is now able to pull off her movies at the box-office. Taapsee is going to open 2020 with her new film Thappad.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Thappad will be releasing worldwide on February 28th. This film deals with the concept of domestic violence and gives a message that men cannot slap women even once, no matter what forms their relationship. The trailer got a good response from the audience and raised the expectations on the film.
Even Union Minister Smriti Irani got intrigued by the trailer and shared it online and wrote a lengthy post praising it. Even though both Taapsee and Anubhav are anti-BJP, Smriti appreciated them for their efforts in making this film.
When asked her response on Smriti's praises, Taapsee said that she is quite pleased to know that Smriti has liked the trailer. And she is wanting to watch the film. Taapsee added that she and her team will arrange a special show for the Minister if given an opportunity and felt happy that everyone is getting connected on the issue.
