Taapsee Pannu has been concentrating on Bollywood films for the past few years. However, she grabs the opportunity to do a film down South if she finds an interesting script. She was last seen in director Ashwin Saravanan's Game Over, which was released in multiple languages. Now, the actress has signed yet another interesting subject in Tamil. She will be playing the lead role in director Barath Neelakantan's science fiction film, which is titled, Alien. Barath Neelakantan had earlier directed a quirky thriller film titled K 13, which starred Arulnithi and Shraddha Srinath.
A source confirmed the news to The Times of India and said, "It will be a science-fiction film that deals with aliens; in fact, its title will be Alien. But the story will be a fresh take on the genre. It will not have any influence on the many Hollywood alien films we have seen so far. The director has come up with a premise that explores how aliens might be in a country like India. The film will be shot in multiple languages and will be a proper pan-Indian film. It involves extensive pre-production work as it is a visual effects-heavy film, with the VFX budget alone amounting to over `10 crores. The team has already begun the prep work. The makers are trying to keep this a ‘Make in India’ project."
