Tadka: Love Is Cooking, starring Ali Fazal, Nana Patekar, Taapsee Pannu, and Shriya Saran, has been released by ZEE5. Tadka, a production of Zee Studios and Movie Makers Inc, is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Salt N Pepper and is co-produced by Girish Johar, Sameer Dixit, Akash Chawla, Jatish Varma, and Nittin Keni. The movie, which also has Lilette Dubey and Rajesh Sharma in supporting parts, will make its television debut on ZEE5 on November 4 and features music by maestro Ilayaraja and cinematography by Preetha Jayaram.
The romantic comedy-of-errors Tadka: Love Is Cooking was written and directed by Prakash Raj. Tukaram (Nana Patekar), an archaeologist, and Madhura (Shriya Saran), a radio host, quickly develop a love for one another after dialling the wrong number at first. When it comes time for them to meet in person, Gaurikshankar, however, gets cold feet and sends his nephew Siddharth (Ali Fazal) to see Vidya, who then sends Nicole (Taapsee), a friend of Vidya's, to meet Gaurishankar.
As soon as they meet, Sidharth (who identified himself as Gaurishankar) and Aditi (who introduced herself as Vidya) click and decide to convince Gaurikshankar and Vidya that they shouldn't be together. The question is, will their shared love of food enable Gaurishankar and Vidya to get closer, or will their internalized idea that they are too old to fall in love prevent them from doing so? Will love triumph over misguided identities?
The Chief Business Officer of ZEE5 India, Manish Kalra, stated: “It is our endeavour at ZEE5 to support passionate storytellers who have entertaining stories to tell and as a part of this vision, we are happy to collaborate with Prakash Raj for his OTT directorial debut, Tadka. “Tadka is a special film made with love and peppered with laughter, food, and joy. I admired the original Malayalam movie, Salt N Pepper and wanted to adapt and direct it in Hindi since it is such a heart-warming yet funny and entertaining story. I am thankful to Nana Patekar, Shriya Saran, Taapsee Pannu, and Ali Fazal for joining me in this journey and I am looking forward to Tadka filling people’s tummies and hearts with love and joy” actor-director-producer Prakash Raj stated.
