Tamil Actress Meera Mithun Booked For Making Cateist Slurs In Viral Video

Meera Mithun is a model in Tamil Nadu and eventually went on to play supporting roles in Tamil films. She participated in the third season of Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan. She was a wild card entry. During the show, she accused Cheran of touch her inappropriately during a task. Later, Meera Mithun has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. She is known for passing controversial statements about the Tamil film industry and popular actors. Recently, a video of Meera Mithun passing derogatory comments against people belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe went viral.

In the video, Meera Mithun said that people belonging to the SC/ST community often involve in criminal activities. She also said that such people in Kollywood should be chucked out of the industry. After the video went viral, an FIR was lodged following a complaint filed by the Viduthalai Chiruthagai Katchi, The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Police has booked Meera Mithun under seven provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Meera Mithun could be arrested because of this hate speech.
