Popular Tamil hero Sarathkumar's daughter Varalaxmi Sarathkumar forayed into films with 2012 romantic comedy Podaa Podi. Varalaxmi couldn't shine as a leading actress and immediately, she started accepting supporting roles as well. Thus, she managed to get some meaty roles in films like Vikram Vedha, Sarkar and Maari 2. Her popularity in Tamil also brought her some good offers in Telugu.
Varalaxmi made her Telugu debut with last year's Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. She is currently playing a key role in Ravi Teja's upcoming film Krack. Meanwhile, Varalaxmi also signed her third Telugu film Naandhi, which stars Allari Naresh in the lead. She is essaying an important role in the film. The shoot of Naandhi started a couple of days back in Hyderabad and Varalaxmi is already taking part in it. Naandi seems to be an intense drama which is being directed by debutant Vijay Kanakamedala. The first look posters are quite gory and intense. Naresh, who is best known for his comedy films, is now coming with a totally contrasting movie. Noted director Satish Vegesna is bankrolling this project. Young music director Sricharan Pakala is composing the music for this movie.
