These days, reviews have become the fate decider for many films in the industry. People are going to the theatres only after reading reviews on online websites. The negative reviews are affecting the films badly. The latest victim of this trend is Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. The movie has hit the screens yesterday and the reviews are not so encouraging.
The movie team has arranged a press meet the other day to vent out their anger on the review writers. The movie's director G. Nageshwara Reddy and lead actor Sundeep Kishan were extremely upset with the reviews.
Sundeep said, "We never said that we are making a novel film. It is a mainstream commercial film which got made only to generate laughs in the theatres. The audience is enjoying in the theatres and I've been getting calls that the occupancy is increasing for every show. Treat it like a comedy entertainer and rate it accordingly."
Director G.Nageshwar Reddy said, "I never told media that I'm making a film like Shankarabharanam or Swati Muthyam. I didn't make the film to send it to Oscars. It is a fun commercial entertainer that serves the purpose to the core. Even though the reviews are bad, the film is doing well at the box office." Tenali Ramakrishna featured Hansika Motwani as the female lead.
