The Coronavirus epidemic is worrying about everyone in the country. The virus hits all the industries badly and a lot of people are suffering directly and indirectly. Of the many industries that came to a shutdown, the film industry is one. A lot of daily workers lost jobs now and they are sitting idle at home. Bollywood film industry usually generates a lot of work every day and there are a lot of people who get benefited from the same. But, with the breakout of the Coronavirus, the Film and Television Producers' Guild of India announced a shut down of the film industry. This has created a lot of disturbance within the industry.
Later, the guild announced a relief fund for daily wage workers in the industry. The guild did not put any restrictions on the people about giving the donations. "Anyone can donate and everyone is free to do so. A bank account creation is under process and once it is ready, we will take the contributions." revealed a member of Guild.
They are analyzing the number of daily wage workers in the industry by consulting all the production houses. The guild, especially, its members are urging everyone in the film fraternity to come up with their own contributions. Siddharth Roy Kapur, who is a part of the guild also urged the fraternity to contribute to the relief fund to minimize the burden on the daily wage workers, in this tough time.
Most production houses will not carry out any operations until March 31st.
