Telugu television industry bigwigs seek the government's permission to hold serial shootings

The coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the entertainment industry throughout the world. Especially, in a country like India, there will be many shootings that take place every day. All those shoots now got canceled due to this virus outbreak. There are no film, TV serial or show productions happening in the country from the last two months. This is also causing a severe financial loss to the film and television industries. All the TV serials are airing old episodes as no new episodes got shot since the lockdown got announced. The Telugu television industry wants to get out of this misery soon. Thus they approached Telangana's Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, seeking permission to start their shoots.

All the major TV channel representatives have collectively requested the minister to look into the matter. They said that TV productions will require a small unit of members. They also assured that the shoots will take place as per the rules imposed by the government. Star Maa business head Alok Jain, ETV CEO Bapineedu, Zee Telugu business head Anuradha Gudur, Gemini TV business head K. Subrahmanyam and Telugu producer council chairman Prasad have handed over a letter to Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday. The Minister told them that he will discuss the issue with Cheif Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on May 5. He assured them that the decision will get taken on the same day itself. As of now, most of the Telugu channels have stopped airing serials. They are telecasting movies all day. We have to see if the government grants them permission to hold shoots. If that happens, we can watch the serials by the end of this month.
