Back in July, Thalapathy Vijay found himself in trouble when Madras High Court brought back the actor's 2012 writ petition seeking exemption on his imported Rolls-Royce Ghost car. Justice SM became down heavily on Vijay and asked him to be a hero in real life as well. Vijay's counsel appealed against the judge's remarks and the case has stayed. However, Vijay agreed to pay the entry tax on his Rolls-Royce Ghost. On September 16, the Tamil Nadu government informed Madras High Court that Vijay has paid the entry tax on his Rolls-Royce Ghost. He paid a huge sum of Rs 40 lakh as the entry tax for his imported car.
