There were reports that Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu will be making a guest appearance in the film. Apart from Vijay, Reshmika Mandana will play the lead role in the film. The film also stars Prakash Raj and Sarath Kumar. Vamshi is the director of some of the biggest grossing Telugu films like Oopiri and Yevadu. It is reported that Vijay is getting a record reward for the film. Vijay's latest release is Beast, directed by Nelson Dileepkumar. The film received a mixed response.
