Tharun Bhascker opts for a social media detox

Tharun Bhascker is the filmmaker who brought a new wave of coming age films in Telugu, with 2016 release Pelli Choopulu. The film was widely appreciated by critics as well as the audience. After that, he made a buddy comedy called Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi which turned out to be a flop but gained a cult following among the youth.

Later, Bhascker planned to make a film with Venkatesh as the lead. Suresh Babu agreed to produce it. Tharun has narrated the story to both Venky and Suresh Babu. They have liked the script but suggested a few changes in the second half. Tharun is still struggling to sort that latter half of the film.
Apparently, he narrated various versions of that but Suresh Babu is still unhappy with neither of them. Thus, the film got delayed and might take time to go on floors.
In between, Tharun got busy promoting the film Meeku Maathrame Cheptha in which he acted as the lead. Now, Tharun decided to go on a social media detox to focus on writing the script.
Revealing the same on social media, Tharun posted, "Dear social media, your love is toxic. I need a break. Maybe it’s not you, it’s me. Some other time, some other place - we shall meet again. Until then, keep scrolling. Yours sincerely, Mr. Bhascker."
