“That Movie Was A Disaster;” Says Actor Unni Mukundan

Actor Unni Mukundan talks about the worst movie of his career. The actor was speaking in an interview with Kaumudi Movies.

At the time of making Meppadiyan, Unni Mukundan had said that this would be his best film. The actor says that the upcoming film Shefeekkinte Santhosham will also be one of his best films.

Unni Mukundan was asked by the presenter about 'Tragedy' in his career.

“Let me tell you what are the worst movies of my career. I like most of my movies terribly and I am emotionally connected. I have more than five good movies. But I should have paid a little more attention. I had acted in Samrajyam's second part. It was kind of a disaster. But I see that movie as an opportunity I got in my early days. It is still said in many places that I did that movie.

The opportunity I got as a new actor in that film did not work out. The same thing happened with Mallu Singh. But Mallu Singh became a hit. Samrajyam 2 did not succeed. There are only a couple of such films. Then there are some scripts, which were okay when it was scripted, but there are also movies that lost their essence when it came to movies. That's normal. No problem;”said Unni Mukundan.

Samrajyam 2 Son of Alexander was released as the second part of the 1990 Mammootty film Samrajyam. The film is directed by Tamil director Perarasu and stars Unni Mukundan in the lead role. The film was a theatrical failure.

Meanwhile, after Meppadiyan, Unni Mukundan himself will be producing a new film. This is under the banner of Unni Mukundan Films titled Shefeekkinte Santhosham.

The film stars Unnimukundan, Manoj K Jayan, Bala, Divya Pillai, and Atmeeya Rajan in the lead roles. Shefeekkinte Santhosham is directed by newcomer Anoop Pandalam.

The film also stars Shaheen Siddique, Mithun Ramesh, Sminu Sijo, Boban Samuel, Harish Pengan, Aziz Nedumangad, Pollachi Raja and Jordi Poonjar.
