The Daily Show's Trevor Noah has officially bid his farewell. For seven seasons, Noah served as the legendary late-night show's host. According to Entertainment Weekly, the late-night host's final appearance on the Comedy Central show was on Thursday night, and as he said goodbye, things got a little emotional. Noah said to the crowd in live time, "I am so grateful.
In the one-hour episode, he noted, "I remember when we started the show, we couldn't get enough people to fill an audience". He said that he never takes the audience for granted at his performances, saying, "No, I always think it's good; that's how comedy is good enough.
Then he made fun of "the people who hate-watched" the programme. “We still got the ratings, thank you. I'm eternally grateful to you." "I'm eternally grateful to you," the 38-year-old continued, mentioning Black women in particular. "I've often been credited with having these grand ideas."
"People are like, ‘Trevor, you're so smart.' I'm like, ‘Who do you think teaches me? Who do you think has shaped me, nourished me, and formed me? '” He remarked this before acknowledging the influence of "all these Black ladies in my life," including his mother, grandmother, aunts, and cousins.
He held back tears as he stated, "I always tell people, if you truly want to learn about America, talk to Black women because unlike everybody else, Black women can't afford to f—- around and find out". The five-minute emotional video Noah uploaded in September when he first announced his departure ended with the words, "This has been an honour. Thank you."
