The Kerala International Documentary-Short Film Festival kicks Off In Trivandrum With 262 Films.

The Kerala International Documentary-Short Film Festival has kicked off in the capital. 262 films in 12 categories will be screened in the six-day fair. These films are from 44 countries. The competition films are included in the categories of Long Documentary, Short Documentary, Short Fiction, and Campus Films. 56 films were included in the international category and 19 in the Best of the World category. There are 109 women directors' films in this fair.

 
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan lit the candle at the opening ceremony at Kairali Theatre. He presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to documentary director and Editor Rana Mohan. The opening film was Mariupol 2, which exposed the horrors of the war in Ukraine.
 
Many short films with war and refugees, street life and nature as their story, burning lives on the big screen, animated films, and world-class works that have gained fame on international platforms will be screened in three theatres in 12 categories. The main attraction this year is a handful of Malayalam short films that communicate politics through life. The exhibition will be held in theatres full of more than 1,200 representatives and 250 guests. The art programmes have also been prepared for the connoisseurs till Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
 
At the International Documentary Short Film Festival, the best long documentary and short film will be awarded two lakh rupees each. A prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation for the best short documentary.
