Thiruchitrambalam: Nithya Menen Requests Fans To Stop Calling Her 'Thaai Kelavi'
Thiruchitrambalam is on the track to surpass Asuran as Dhanush's second 100 crore grosser at the box office with impressive second-weekend box office receipts.
The movie "Thiruchitrambalam" starring Dhanush was released in theatres on August 18. Since its debut, the film has been receiving a tonne of positive reviews. The song Thaai Kelavi from the movie went viral on social media. A lot of fans are dancing to the song in theatres when it plays the song. The song has the lead actors of the movie, Dhanush and Nithya Menen, dancing to it in a village, along with Priya Bhavani Shankar. In the song, Dhanush's character is trying to cheer up his childhood friend Nithya Menen by calling her "affectionately" "Thaai Kelavi," which is how the situation is shown. Thaai Kelavi is a term popularised by the 1994 blockbuster film Nattamai.
A new consequence of the song's enormous success has emerged. In an attempt to convey their love for the character of Shobana, the actress' character in the movie, some fans have begun to refer to Nithya Menen as "Thaai Kelavi." Nithya Menen, who has stated that she dislikes being called by this name, has expressed her displeasure with this and asked supporters to stop. The actress can be seen pleading in a now-viral video, "Please don't call me 'Thaai Kelavi'. Please don't start calling me 'Thaai Kelavi'. I don't love that name."
The movie has kept most of its screens for the second week as well, but the upcoming week will be difficult for the movie because of several major releases. But Thiruchitrambalam has already collected over 65 crores worldwide.
As a result of the great writing of filmmaker Mithran Jawahar, the movie has earned favourable reviews. After a long break, Anirudh Ravichander composed the score for Dhanush, and the film benefited greatly from the DnA pairing's reunion. Nithya Menen's performance has dominated the film as per reviews.
