Actor Dhanush and director Vetri Maaran are one of the most successful combinations in Kollywood. Together, they have given four important films that hold a special place in the history of cinema. They first teamed up with Pollathavan and also followed it up with Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran.
Vetri Maaran and Dhanush’s recently released film Asuran won rave reviews from critics and audience alike. The film, which released on October 4, recently completed 100 days at the theatres. To commemorate the event, there was a special show at the Rohini theatres in Chennai in the 100th day.
Similarly, the makers arranged a press meet to celebrate 100 days of Asuran. At the event, Dhanush revealed how he became friends with Vetri Maaran. When he acted in legendary director Bali Mahendra’s Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam, Vetri Maaran worked as the assistant director.
As a prank, Dhanush had requested the director make Vetri Maaran act a scene during the shooting. Jokingly, he asked Balu Mahendra to choose who acted better. The director said he cannot do that because both are like his sons. From then on, Dhanush and Vetri Maaran became the best of friends.
