Kamal Haasan is not willing to wait for Shankar to resume Indian 2. Since the film has hit a roadblock due to the difference between Shankar and Lyca Productions, Kamal Haasan decided to move on to his upcoming film. Initially, he had planned to produce Lokesh Kanagaraj's film with Rajinikanth. Later, that idea didn't materialize and hence Lokesh Kanagraj joined hands with Kamal Haasan for a film. The film has been titled Vikram, but it is not a sequel to Kamal Haasan's 1986 film of the same name. Recently, the makers unveiled the film's first-look poster featuring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles.
On July 16, Vikram's shooting began with a small pooja. Kamal Haasan was elated to get back to work after almost a year. He took to social media to talk about the first day of the shooting. He wrote, "Day one of VIKRAM. Felt like a High school reunion. In the past 50 years, this is the longest I have been away from film shootings. Many filmmakers have not seen action for nearly a year. I welcome all my comrades from all echelons back to work at RKFI. Especially Mr.Lokesh and his enthusiastic team and my talented brothers, Mr.Vijay Sethupathi and Mr. Fahadh Faasil (sic)." More details regarding the film and its storyline will be made later.
