R Madhavan turns 50 today! Quite hard to believe, isn't it? Madhavan has certainly aged like fine wine. Madhavan is one of the most popular and beloved actors of all time. He has played a variety of roles in a wide range of films. From commercial blockbusters to small screen appearances, he has done it all!
 
R Madhavan debuted with the film Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin in 1996. He then appeared in films like Inferno and Shanti Shanti Shanti before breaking out with the Mani Ratnam directorial Alaipayuthey in 2000. His 2001 film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein might have had mixed reviews, but it is still one of Madhavan's most popular films. With the release of Kannathil Muthamittal, Madhavan established himself as one of the most critically acclaimed actors to come. Since then he has appeared in a variety of roles.
 
Dumm Dumm Dumm, Anbe Sivam, Nala Damayanthi, Rang De Basanti, Thambi, Rendu, 3 Idiots, Om Shanti, the Tanu Weds Manu series, Vikram Vedha are some of Madhavan's popular films. Madhavan has certainly entertained the masses with his diverse roles over the last 2 decades.
 
Madhavan starred in several tv shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Ghar Jamai and many more. He returned to the small screen with his 2018 Amazon Prime crime thriller Breathe.
 
Madhavan is also recognized as the face of brands like Bajaj, Ponds, Fair and Lovely. All in all Madhavan has done it all and proved to be one of the most versatile and beloved actors.
 
Madhavan was one of the first actors to achieve a Pan Indian appeal while appearing in films across the major film industries of India. Primarily working in Tamil and Hindi cinema, he has appeared in a few Telugu and Malayalam films as well. He will next appear in films like Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Maara.
 
Madhavan married Sarita Birje in 1999 and the couple has a son. We wish Madhavan a very happy 50th!
