Tollywood drug racket case: No actor was given a clean chit
The Tollywood drug racket case shook the industry and brought out the dark days. Now, the issue is back again in the news after an RIT petition was filed by Forum of Good Governance Secretary Padmanabha Reddy.
He wanted an update on the case and the RIT petition did not specify anyone related to Tollywood. Soon, rumours were doing the rounds that the Tollywood personalities have been given a free chit.
However, that’s not true. The officials said, “A total of 7 chargesheets have been filed till date in this case and five more chargesheets will be registered soon. Whoever is involved in the drugs case will face respective charges and get punished.”
Nearly 62 film personalities including Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannath, Charmee Kaur, Tharun, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu and others were questioned by the SIT team that was investigating this case, but no action was taken after that.
