2020 has opened on a high note for Tollywood as both the Sankranthi releases created a rampage at the box-office. Superstar Mahesh Babu's Sarileru Neekevvaru and Stylish Star Allu Arjun's Ala...Vaikunthapurramuloo has minted more than Rs. 250 crores at the box office and gave a thunderous start to the year. Now, the attention got shifted to how the upcoming films will maintain this momentum.
Generally, the months of February and March are often considered as the dull period for the film market. Even November is generally called a dull month and last year, we have seen theatres struggling to get the maintenance costs in November last year.
This February is going to start with Sharwanand and Samantha's love drama Jaanu. It is hitting the screens this Friday. Then, there are two more biggies in the form of Vijay Deverakonda's World Famous Lover and Nithiin's Bheeshma. The market for February depends on these films. In March, Natural Star Nani is arriving with his film V. These are the four big releases in these two months and we have to see how many of them will turn out as money-spinners at the box office. The buyers are hoping for all their successes so that the industry can flourish till summer.
