Horror films have never made any wave in the Hindi film industry since its inception. If we take some of the best horror films of India, most of them will either be the films of Ram Gopal Varma or films from the southern film industries. To break this culture and develop horror-based stories in Bollywood, director-producer Karan Johar is now coming up with a horror franchise called Bhoot.
The first part of it got named Bhoot: The Haunted Ship. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, the theatrical trailer of this movie got released today. Going by trailer, the film showcases an old ship called Sea Bird, which magically comes on the shores of Mumbai. A surveying officer enters it to know more things behind its arrival. How his life goes upside down after entering into that ship, forms the rest of the story. There are a few moments in the film which bring genuine scares to the audience. The trailer promises a horrifying theatrical experience to the viewers.
Directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Bhoot features Bhumi Padnekar as the female lead. It will hit the screens on the 21st of this month, on the occasion of Maha Shiva Ratri.
