Tusshar Kapoor, who has acted as well as co-produced the much-anticipated film of the year, Laxmmi Bomb, says it's better to release films on OTT. In an interview with a leading daily, Tusshar said that he feels these days people like to watch films online and not in theatres. "The movie was originally expected to release in cinemas in May. But we had a new set of circumstances and took an informed and logical decision in the light of the events. As the makers, we wanted to show the film to a larger audience. This move felt right because more people will watch it online than in theatres at this point in time. We are taking the film beyond geographical restrictions," he said.
Laxmmi Bomb will release on 9th November on Disney+ Hotstar. It stars actors such as Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, etc. The film is a Hindi remake of the famous south Indian film called Muni2: Kanchana. Tusshar further explained how Laxmmi Bomb is above any trade war. "There is no animosity. When things go back to normal, cinemas will always be the first preference. The circumstances compelled us to work our way around things. This was never intentional, movies are always made for theatres first."
Recently, the first song from the film called Burj Khalifa dropped online and it has been impressing everyone ever since. The song is a peppy and upbeat track featuring Akshay and Kiara.
