Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya release in theatres; Producers breaks silence on ongoing rumours

So many movies were supposed to get released in March and April this year. But, the country lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic has compelled all the makers to reschedule the releases. Now, after two and half months of lockdown, some of the filmmakers instead of waiting for the theatres, are planning to collaborate with OTT platforms. On this note, speculations came out that the makers of Satyadev Kancharana's upcoming film 'Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya' are also discussing a deal with Digital Giant Netflix to release their film directly on the OTT platform.

"We are exploring different options. The film has already passed the censor and was supposed to get released on April 17. But the lockdown has changed our plans. Now, we are keeping our options open. We are waiting for the theatres to reopen. But, if the situation remains the same for a long time, we might opt for the digital release," said Shobu.

Touted to be a comedy-drama, the movie is going to be the remake of Malayalam hit film Maheshinte Prathikaaram 2016. The film is directed by Venkatesh Maha of C/o Kancharapalem fame.

As this is the film coming from Baahubali producers, we can expect a strong theatrical release.
