Upasana Konidela gives a sensible message

Upasana Kamineni Konidela aka Upasana Ram Charan is an active person on social media. She always makes no hesitation to talk about bold issues of society. She recently spoke about the importance of using sanitary napkins that are reusable. She also promoted a brand with it but has come up with a sensible message.

She posted a tweet, saying, "If ur ready to talk abt constipation, farting & burping in public then why not talk about something that’s absolutely natural. a PERIOD is a sign of good health & fertility unlike a fart or a burp. Choose eco-friendly options! Reduce waste! A bit of thinking goes a long way."

The video starts with Upasana addressing a huge gathering, Upasana says, "All those here are the most powerful people on earth," and then, we can see some graphical representation of usage of sanitary napkins with Upasana's voice in the background. "There are 336 million menstruating women in India in the age bracket of 15-45. 36 percent of them use sanitary napkins. If each woman uses an average of 8 pads for a cycle, Indians are using 12.5 billion disposable sanitary napkins every year. Conventional sanitary napkins are made of 90 percent plastic. 62 percent of people still use cloth. 'Healing Train' helps in providing reusable pads. Menstrual cups should be the main choice but the cultural difference doesn't encourage its use." said Upasana in the video.
