Upendra’s upcoming film Home Minister is one of the most awaited films of the year; the film is one of the first films to receive censor board certification after the lockdown.

Upendra’s Home Minister faces the censor board and receives a U/A certification

The censor board is back to work after the lockdown! They have reviewed around 8 films over the last two weeks. Upendra Rao’s upcoming film Home Minister is one of those 8 films. The Sujay K Srihari directorial has received a U/A certification.

 
Poorna Naidu Productions is bankrolling the Upendra starrer. The release date for the film is not set in stone. The team will decide on a date after there is clarity on as to when the theatres can function fully. Apart from Upendra, Home Minister features Vedhika Kumar, Tanya Hope and Suman Ranganath in important roles. Sadhu Kokila and Avinash will also appear in supporting roles.
 
In a recent interview, Upendra spoke of the film. His comments on the film’s title have garnered much curiosity. “People have been assuming it is a political film, but Home Minister can be a term that can be used to describe someone at home as well”, said Upendra. Rumour has it Home Minister is a family entertainer. Home Minister is musician Mohamaad Ghibran’s Sandalwood debut. Anthony is editing the film.
 
Meanwhile, Upendra was last seen in the 2019 film I Love You. Upendra has a string of films in the works. He will star in Mourya BN’s romantic entertainer Buddhivantha 2. Upendra is also looking forward to the film Nagarjuna directed by R Gurudath. Upendra will also star in the Kannada remake of the Telugu film Balupu titled Ravi Chandra.
