Unlike the others, writer Vakkantham Vamshi had a rather bitter experience with his directorial debut. Writers like Siva Koratala, Trivikram Srinivas had a successful debut, in fact, blockbuster debuts as directors. Siva Koratala debuted with 'Mirchi' starring Prabhas, which was a commercial blockbuster. Trivikram debuted with 'Nuvve - Nuvve', which won critical acclaim and became a cult classic over the period. After a flop debut, everyone thought that he might get back to writing but the latest buzz is that he is in plans for his second directorial with Ravi Teja.
Vakkantham Vamsi made his directorial debut with 'Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India', starring Allu Arjun in the lead role. The story tells about Surya, an aggressive soldier who tries to mend his behaviour accordingly with society rather than the ethics. Although the plot & performance were appreciated, the film turned out to be critical & commercial failure. After then, Vamshi is not seen anywhere and it has been 2 years the film released. Now, reports came in that he has come up with a solid script and is planning to make it with 'Mass Maharaj' Ravi Teja. Previously, they both have collaborated for 'Kick' franchise, where Vamshi provided the script for both the films and Surender Reddy directed them. While 'Kick' stands out to be blockbuster, 'Kick-2' was a disaster. Now, it looks like they are collaborating for a big one and scores a big hit
Ravi Teja was last seen in 'Disco Raja', which was also a flop. Ravi Teja's last hit was 'Raja - The Great', which was released in 2017. After that, he made 4 films and none of them was a success.
