Valimai: H Vinoth and team enforces cellphone ban on sets

Thala Ajith has kickstarted shooting for his upcoming film Valimai, directed by H Vinoth. Produced by Boney Kapoor, this new film is a cop thriller which has Ajith essaying the role of a police officer. On December 13, the film went on floors in Hyderabad where huge sets have erected for the shoot.

According to reliable sources, cellphones are banned on the sets of Valimai to avoid leakage of working stills. Reportedly, the makers of Valimai do not want Ajith’s look to get leaked on social media and hence they have instructed the technicians, the cast and the crew to avoid bringing cellphones to the sets.

Many filmmakers namely Mani Ratnam, Shankar, and SS Rajamouli have implemented this rule on their respective film sets so that they can safeguard their secrets till the release of their films. The no cellphone policy is not new to Tamil or Telugu cinema as filmmakers would ideally want to safeguard their film.

Valimai is currently progressing at a brisk pace at the prestigious Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. The rest of the cast and crew are being finalized and an official confirmation on the same will be made official soon. The film produced by Boney Kapoor will release worldwide on Diwali 2020.
