Thalapathy Vijay is riding high on the success of Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. For his next film, Vijay has joined hands with young promising talent, Nelson Dilipkumar. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 65, the film is produced by Sun Pictures. The film's shooting began in April second week in Georgia. After completing the first schedule, Thalapathy Vijay headed back to Chennai and has been at home since then. Meanwhile, there were rumours doing the rounds about his 66th film. It was reported that Atlee, Lokesh Kanagaraj and other directors are in consideration for the same.
However, in a surpise announcement, director Vamshi Paidipally confirmed that he will director Thalapathy Vijay in his next film. Produced by Dil Raju, the film will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. This is Vijay's plan to make a mark in the Telugu trade circuit. An official announcement regarding the film will be made once the lockdown eases. Meanwhile, Vijay's 65th film with Nelson Dilipkumar is likely to release later this year or early next year. The film marks actress Pooja Hegde's debut in Tamil.
