In the upcoming movie V3, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will play the lead role. The Amudhavanan-directed movie centres on the gang rape and murder inquiry. V3 is an abbreviation for Vindhya Victim Verdict. The film is all set to release on 6th January. The makers have now released the trailer to the film.
The director introduces the film by saying, "It is a fight for rights and it is against injustice. The film talks about getting political justice through the same system that initially fails. The failure might be due to pressure from the elected representatives and the people. The story is based on three similar crimes that actually occurred in Hyderabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Kashmir.
The trailer promises a heartfelt attempt to portray the real life incidents. It is billed as a thriller film which has sat edge moments. The film covers three time periods—the past, present, and future. These time periods will be used to tell the investigation story.
Varalaxmi's character will be seen handling various tasks. She portrays an IAS officer. “She has been given the punishing task of running the printing and stationery department. In the past, she was a collector, and in the future, she will be a human rights official." the director revealed in a recent interview.
Vindhya, played by Kannada actress Pavana Gowda, turns out to be the victim. Esther Anil, of Papanasam fame, plays her sister. Aadukamal Naren, who wrote the story for Visaaranai, will be seen as their father. Chandrakumar also plays a significant role.
