'Vattakara,' directed by rookie Bharathi Kannan and starring Satheesh, was released a few days ago. Despite the film discussing a timely theme of farmer problems, 'Vattakara' only received 50 screenings. In an interview, debuting director Bharathi Kannan and star actor Satheesh discussed why the film is worth seeing.
Bharathi Kannan said of his debut film, "Being a rookie, I wanted my film to be enjoyable as well as socially important." Though the movie is about how individuals working in agriculture are exploited, it ultimately comes down to money. And 'Vattakara' means money in Tamil. It's a family film that I believe the audience will enjoy viewing. Even though we have fewer screens, we are receiving excellent responses from the audience."
The major actors in 'Vattakara' are Angadi Theru Mahesh, Satheesh, Saranesh Kumar, Kannan Madhavan, Aleesha George, and Sharah Monu. "Saraneesh provided my name for the film," said Satheesh, who plays one of the key roles. When I heard the crux, I was impressed. I had to study several areas of farming, including ploughing, for the job."
The first-time filmmaker also highlighted some of the significant problems he experienced while filming the film, saying, "From the funding to the locations for the film, there were numerous barriers I'd to confront."
