Leaving the entire Kannada film industry in a sad and shocking state, veteran actress Kishori Ballal has passed away the other day. Kishori Ballal has breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. The sources claimed that age-related issues are the cause of her death.
The 82-year-old actress made her entry into films with 1960 film Ivalentha Hendthi. In her career spanning over five decades, Kishori had acted in many films. She married to Bharatanatyam dancer, N Sripathi Ballal. She got a nationwide recognition with her role of Shah Rukh Khan's mother in the 2004 film Swades. She was also seen in Rani Mukherjee's Aiyaa and Deepika Padukone's Lafangey Parindey.
Kishori's notable works include Kahi, Hani Hani, Suryakanthi, Aakramana, Mahaveera Machideva, and Aasra. She had also acted in one of the long-running series of Kannada, Amrutha Varshini.
The whole Kannada film industry and the celebrities across the various film industries have paid their condolences on her demise. Swades's director Ashutosh Gowarikar tweeted that she will be always remembered as Kaveri Amma of Swades and added that she will miss. Kannada star hero Puneeth Rajkumar also paid his condolences and prayed that her soul might rest in peace.
