Vetri Maaran To Direct A Biopic On Velupillai Prabhakaran

National award-winning director Vetri Maaran will direct a biopic based on the life of Velupillai Prabhakaran. Velupillai Prabhakaran was the founder and head of the militant group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka. Seeman has chosen to adapt his life narrative into a movie. The movie's official announcement was made on Twitter by Seeman. He also revealed that Vetri Maaran will be directing it.

 
"The true story of the venerable ancestor of the Tamils Arulmozhi Chola, the unparalleled freedom fighter of this century was Tamil leader Annan Methagu V. Prabhakaran's history will be made as a film produced by me and will be directed by my beloved brother Vetri Maaran. According to the revolutionary words of Annal Ambedkar, the people of the caste who have been neglected in history will write their history, one day we will write our history. On that day, the world will know who we Tamils are", Seeman posted on his Twitter handle to make it official.
 
Cinephiles are excited to hear the news that a movie based on the life of Velupillai Prabhakaran is being made. They are curious to learn who will play the major part. The film's cast and staff details are also not revealed as of now. Its release might be next year or in 2024. The final leg of filming for Vetri Maaran's upcoming project, "Viduthalai" is presently underway. Viduthalai stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the key roles. Suriya and the filmmaker are intending to start filming "Vaadivaasal" in December.
