Many Bollywood women have come out and admitted that they are paid less than their male co-stars. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, and other actresses have previously spoken out about the low pay. and now Vidya Balan has done the same. Several actresses recently gathered for a roundtable conversation. The actresses talked about their filmmaking experiences thus far this year. Vidya Balan was in attendance at the said discussion. In a recent interview, Vidya Balan discussed salary equality in Bollywood. And in the interview, said she is content with her pay. Since she rarely collaborates with "great heroes," the Kahaani actor claimed she does not have many thoughts about equal pay. She continued by saying that she felt appropriately compensated. But, she said there are big stars in blockbuster films who would want ten times as much as she was being paid.
Mrunal Thakur and Nimrat Kaur spoke on this subject, who was also present during the conversation. Pay parity is a good perspective, according to Nimrat. She also pointed out that actors are usually compensated according to the type of audience they can attract. Mrunal concluded by saying that before agreeing to work on a film, it is crucial to be upfront about your expectations for money.
