After much success of her last film, Shakuntala Devi, Vidya Balan is back with another promising film called Sherni. On Monday, the makers released the first-look poster of the film and announced that the film is going to release on Amazon Prime Video in June. Sherni has been directed by Amit Masurkar, who's known for helming Rajkummar Rao starrer Newton.
Vidya Balan plays the role of a Forest Officer who strives to maintain a balance between man and animal conflicting world. The poster sees Vidya Balan in an intense look, with the backdrop of a forest. Vijay Subramanian, director and head of content, Amazon Prime, said in a statement, "Following the success of Shakuntala Devi, we’re excited to present Sherni, another Vidya Balan starrer, to our customers in India and around the world. The film is an intriguing tale of triumph that will not only entertain audiences but offer them an experience of adventure in the comfort of their homes."
Shakuntala Devi, which was released on Prime Video last year, managed to grab a decent audience. The film was based on the real-life story of a mathematician named Shakuntala Devi who managed to do complicated calculations within seconds. And now, Sherni has many expectations in store for a brilliant actor like Vidya Balan. The film has been produced by T-series and Abundantia Entertainment.
