After several years of courtship, Nayanthara and Vignesh got married in June of last year in Chennai. It was a small wedding attended by only a few of their close friends. Among those present at the wedding were composer AR Rahman, actors Suriya, Rajinikanth, and Shah Rukh Khan. They added twin babies to their family through surrogacy later in October of the same year.

The 2022 film Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal was directed by Vignesh. The film had Samantha, Vijay Sethupathi, and Nayanthara in the key roles. He also produced the horror movie Connect. The movie, directed by Ashwin Saravanan, featured Nayanthara as well as Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher, and Vinay Rai. Following the success of Maya, it was Saravanan and Nayanthara's second collaboration.
